Your DNA is the master who made you. This dictates and governs each and every mechanism that occurs within your body which contribute to your overall health and wellness.

For instance, heart is the muscular engine that keeps your life force pumping on and takes the responsibility of everything ranging from the transportation of oxygen to the success of your immune system. World Health Organization predicts that by 2030 more than 23 million people will die annually from cardiovascular disorders. One reason as to why these statistics are fact is undeniably lack of commitment to heart healthy lifestyle.

The link between lifestyle, heart health, reduced chronic disease risk and overall health is too important to ignore. But being healthy is a lifestyle choice and something that has to be achieved over time, not just overnight. Adopting a heart healthy lifestyle that is well backed up by your genetic information can greatly help you to maintain a healthy heart and body.

When you do not find an obvious reason for a health condition, we turn towards genetics for an answer. Well, the term genetics may belong to the present era, but, it is an age old fact that every human being is unique in both physical make and mental make. This concept of genes and gene based preventive medicine in healthcare is a modern counterpart of ancient ‘Prakriti’. Prakriti refers to the specific combination of various proportions of the five elements of nature which is unique to every individual. In other words, it is the metabolic type of an individual.

Bio

Dr. Anjhana is a duly qualified Indian medicine practitioner. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery after 5 n 1/2 years of intense training. She completed her diploma in Yoga from Andiappan Yoga Center during the course of her under-graduation. She pursued her ‘advanced post graduate certification in Clinical Research from Apollo Hospitals Education and Research Foundation. Adding on further, her rich experience in medical cosmetology and genetic research for over three years makes her even more versatile.
